Today I made a DLO telling us why understanding volcanoes is important. Volcanoes are big mountains that can erupt with fire, ash, and lava. If we understand volcanoes, we can know when they might erupt and stay safe. It helps protect more people because of how much land they can give us.
Volcanoes.
Today we learned about the 4 types of volcanoes. the 4 types of volcanoes is a shape of the crater of the volcano. and today were gonna talk about.
A dome volcano is a type of mountain made when hot, gooey rocks called lava come out of the ground and pile up in a round shape, like a big bump or bubble. It looks like a big hill made of soft, sticky rocks.
A shield volcano is a tall mountain made of melted rock that flows out slowly and spreads out flat like a shield. It looks like a big, gently sloping hill. Lava from inside the Earth comes out and cools down, building up the volcano over time.
A cone volcano is a mountain shaped like a upside-down bowl with steep sides. It forms when melted rock, called lava, flows out of a hole in the ground and then cools and hardens. Over time, the lava keeps building up and making the mountain taller and steeper. It looks like a big pointy cone.
Poppy Research
Last Week for our reading we learned about poppys. We had to research about poppys and we had to go in groups for this research. We had a piece of newsprint papper and had to write down the ideas that were gonna research about. When we finished we made a Google Sildes telling us about Poppys. And then when were done we had go up and present to other groups. When we finished presenting out teacher had to give us some feedback on our Poppy Research.
